Poker Freeroll News April 2007

Do you play Sit 'n Gos? Want to start WINNING for a change?

I've got something a bit unusual for you this week. I've been rooting around the poker world and I came across a site that might be very beneficial to you.

It's called Tony G Poker and here's the deal. The site has a Sunday freeroll that pays $2000 as well as other regular freerolls throughout the week, BUT - there hardly seems to be any players at the site at all. When I looked there the last few nights, there were less than 20 players on the whole site.

This is an opportunity for you to play the smaller freerolls at extremely good odds and win some cash. Also, if you had a friend or two you could probably use one of the tables as your own "private" game! If there's nobody else playing, why not take the opportunity to play with a friend or two and build up the player points you need to enter the $2000 freeroll.

Don't quote me on this but if there are only 20 players playing the site, the freeroll probably isn't going to be all that busy either.

Also this week while we're on the less well known sites, Gutshot Poker have a nice variety of freerolls from $200 up to $1000. This is a very unusual site as it is run as a sort of co-operative and does not display advertising or make money in any other commercial way, other than the rake from the tables.

It pains me a bit to say this but it doesn't even have an affiliate program so I get absolutely nothing for referring you to them, other than a warm glow of satisfaction inside when I think of all your happy faces cleaning up at the freerolls.

If you really want to thank me just head over to Poker Stars and play the $6 turbo games I told you about last week ;-)

                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week it's all about the biggest and best poker site in the world. This time last year, the clear owner of that title would have undoubtedly been Party Poker, but due to the unfortunate turn of events in the US government legislation, Party Poker has lost a lot of it's customers. That has left the way clear for Poker Stars to be the undisputed top poker site on the net.
And as well as being the biggest site, it has the biggest freerolls and the widest selection of freeroll games anywhere. Among the current most popular are Hubble's No Limit Texas Holdem freeroll where the top 27 players go on to play in a $1000 prize pool tournament. There are 10,000 places available for each of these games and they are always full, such is the current popularity of Poker Stars.
But one of the best things about Poker Stars is their Turbo Sit 'n Go tournaments. They're Fast, fun, always available and best of all, easy to profit from. I hadn't played for a while so I had a go yesterday to see what the standard was, here's what happened:
I covered the name to protect my modesty but it's very easy. The whole thing took just over half an hour - compare that to four hours at a 200 player freeroll to win the same amount of money.
It really is a great alternative to freerolls so why not give it a try?
Play freerolls or turn $6 into $27, your choice at Poker Stars
Poker.com is the new unofficial home of freerolls! This site is doing much more than any of the others to try and get you, the dedicated freeroller. Poker.com has a full web page that is dedicated to just bringing you all the information you need about their freerolls. None of the usual stuff to wade through here to get to the information that you want, just straight to the page with all the answers.
On that page you will find details of how you can play in a massive $50,000 freeroll, enough to be a life-changing amount for many people. And for those of you wondering - yes, Poker.com do accept players from USA.
Sorry the newsletter is a bit late this week, due to the Easter holidays. The good news is that I am in the process of sorting out another Love Texas Holdem private freeroll which will give the winner a shot at something very BIG!
Please stay tuned to the newsletter for updates on this freeroll, I hope to be bringing you details next Sunday.
As with previous private Love Texas Holdem freeroll tourneys, entry is available to everyone regardless of how long you've been  a member of the newsletter. Just watch for the signup details to follow soon.
Poker Time is still accepting US customers (I know this because I phoned their support and a very nice man called Craig told me!) and they have a great freeroll-based tournament coming up that could see you take down a share of $6,000.
The tournament is called the World Wide Smackdown Tournament and it has eight countries taking part. You can represent either USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Australia or, for everybody else, the Rest of the World.
The final of the competition takes place on May 7th 2007 and it has a brilliant prize pool of $6,000. There are two ways that you can qualify:
Firstly there's the Weekly Freeroll starting on April 4th in which each of the countries has four weekly Freerolls that you can join. The top five players from each Freeroll qualify for the final.
Secondly each participating country has their own World Wide Smackdown Tournament leader board where the top 20 players from each country at the end of April qualify for the Final. To get to the leader board all you need to do is collect poker points through playing poker at the regular tables.
You need to get registered NOW so that you can get the secret password sent to you by email that will let you know how to enter your countries weekly tournaments.
LAST CALL FOR VEGAS FREEROLL!!!!!
Canbet is a site that's growing in size and player numbers all the time. I had a look on Friday night and was surprised to see over 20,000 players at the tables so there's no long waiting times for a game. I signed up for a freeroll that was about to start and although the prize money was only $25, there were only 100 players registered out of 2000 available places with less than half an hour to go till the start of the game. Not bad odds!
Note that this site isn't available to US players.
Monthly 10K New Player Free Roll
Sun Poker runs a monthly new player freeroll that is well worth a go if you've never played on the site before. Just sign up for a new account and you will be eligible to play in their Monthly $10,000 New Player FreeRoll Tournament.
