US Poker Players
US Poker Players have been banned from playing online poker for real money by the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act 2006 which was signed into law on October 13th, 2006, signed by the president of the USA George Bush. This is obviously a very bad day for online poker, not just for Americans. It is a threat to all of the poker world's freedom to play poker online, because where America leads others surely follow not far behind. All real money poker games are affected by this legislation, including freerolls because of the fact that they pay out real money cash prizes athough they don't charge an entry fee. US citizens can still play in "play-money" poker games, although this is likely to be scant consolation for the vast majority. However there is light at the end of the tunnel! There are still some poker sites where it is possible for US poker players to play real money poker online, follow the link below to find out the current sites still accepting players from USA.
