Clonie Gowen
Clonie Gowen was born and raised in Kiowa, Oklahoma. Growing
up she was the typical teen, competing in sports. She was even crowned
Miss Teen McAlestar! But, she moved to Texas where her poker playing
days started. Currently, she is the mother of two and a definite force
in the poker tournament world.
In October of 2002, she was placed
10th at the World Poker Tour at $500 No Limit Holdem in Costa Rica
Classic. Her biggest win, though, was in September of 2003 at the World
Poker Tournament’s Main Event, Ladies Night in Los Angeles. She took 1st
place there and brought home $25,000.
Clonie is now considered by those in the know to be one of the best up and coming women stars of tournament poker.
Besides
poker Clonie is also a columnist for All In Magazine which is the
official magazine of the World Series of Poker. You can find her at many
if not all of the nations top poker tournaments. Clonie has
recently become involved with Full Tilt Poker, one of the fastest rising
and most exciting poker sites on the internet. Full Tilt Poker allows
anyone to play with the top poker players on the site, such as Clonie, Phil Ivey
and Paul Phillips.
